Custodial history: Seven photographs, three certificates, Rotary Club newsletters and rosters donated by Sally Hood (1/25/2010). 11 greeting cards designed by Bernard Preston Thomas donated by Edythe Hood (27 June 2006) to the Boynton Cultural Centre; transferred to BBCL 11/8/2016

Historical note: C. Howard Hood (1905-1981) was mayor of Boynton Beach in 1954 and also served as vice-mayor and commissioner; he was active in the Boynton Beach Rotary Club among other groups. His wife Edythe Hood (1913-2007) worked as a real estate agent and was very active in the Boynton Beach community, serving as clerk for the Boynton Beach election board (1939-1969), president of the Boynton Woman's Club (1939-1940), the Library board, the Interracial Committee (1963), and many other community boards.

Scope and content note: Chiefly materials relating to the Boynton Beach Rotary Club, including photographs and ephemera (1940-1959). Particularly represented is the 1954 Boynton Rotary Club trip to Matanzas, Cuba. Also includes material related to the offer of Edythe Hood to sell beachfront property to the city of Boynton Beach.
