Historical Note:In 1896, the Lake Worth Land Trust donated land for a school in Boynton, which until April 1908 was part of Dade County. Its location has been variously recorded as being west or east of the later school, at Ocean Avenue and Seacrest (then Green Street). In 1900, a new school was built on Ocean Avenue near Seacrest, with one large room and a belfrey with a bell. In 1910, the building was divided into two rooms. In 1913, a new six room concrete black building was constructed just east of the older building. The Boynton Beach Elementary School served grades 1 -12 until 1927, when the Boynton High School opened next door. For the next three decades the building served as a traditional 1-8 grade school, until Boynton Jr. High opened in 1958. The structure served as a school for primary grades and elementary students until its closing in 1990.

Scope and Content Note: Chiefly photograph albums produced by the school. Also a few pieces of ephemera.
