Crime Prevention Tips
- Have someone pick up your newspapers and mail.
- Interior and exterior light timers are effective.
- Have a trusted neighbor park their car in your driveway during random times.
- Motion sensor lights are an excellent deterrent.

Bicycle / Generator Registration Program
Residents can register bicycles and/or generators with the police department.

Business Trespass Agreements
Pursuant to Florida Statute 810.09, entering into a trespass agreement with the Boynton Beach Police Department authorizes its personnel to issue and enforce trespass warnings on behalf of the property owner or their agent.

Citizens Observer Patrol
Volunteers come together as an organized group to patrol their neighborhood in a marked vehicle. They are trained to be the “eyes and ears” of the police department.

Community Police Academy
This 9-week program, taught by police officers, aims to educate participants about police practices and the legal system as it pertains to police work.

Emergency Access Program
Residents’ information is automatically “flagged” in our computer aided dispatch system (CAD), which can assist the police and fire department in case of an emergency.

Juvenile First Offender (JFO)
This is a voluntary 12-month probation-like program for first-time juvenile misdemeanants.

Parking Enforcement
Parking Enforcement is a program where volunteers enforce City parking ordinances.

Police Explorers
The Police Explorer program is open to young men and women aged 14 (and who have completed the 8th grade) to 20, who are interested in exploring careers in law enforcement.

Request an Extra Patrol
An extra patrol notification is simply that; an advisory to your police department that you are going out of town and would like your home or business periodically checked.

Residential / Business Security Surveys
Crime Prevention Officers will respond to your home or business and conduct a confidential security survey. The survey will identify recommended security upgrades to help harden the home or business from burglars.

Shop with a Cop
The Boynton Beach Police Department has been brightening the holidays for underprivileged children in our city through the “Shop with a Cop” program since 2005. Officers escort the children as they shop for gifts for themselves and their families.

Teen Police Academy
This week-long summer camp is dedicated to increasing an understanding between the youth of our community and our police department through fun and exciting interactive education.

Vial of Life
Participants fill out a form providing medical information in case of an emergency where the person cannot speak and/or the family member present is too distraught to assist in answering time/lifesaving questions.
