NOTICE OF INTENT TO REQUEST RELEASE OF FUNDS

On or about October 21st, 2025, the City of Boynton Beach will submit a request to the Florida Department of Commerce for the release of Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) grant program funds under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (HCDA), as amended, to undertake a project known as Project I0124 Fire Rescue Station #2 Hardening, located at 2615 Woolbright Road, Boynton Beach, FL, for the purpose of hardening the City of Boynton Beach Fire Station #2 to withstand Category 5 hurricanes. The estimated funding for this project is $571,611 (with a potential increase to a new total of $1,145,000.00, with no additional activities).

The activities proposed are categorically excluded under HUD regulations at 24 CFR Part 58 from National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements

An Environmental Review Record (ERR) that documents the environmental determinations for this project is on file at City of Boynton Beach, Public Works, 100 East Ocean Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL where the Environmental Review Record (ERR) may be examined or copied on weekdays, during the period of October 13th, 2025, to October 20th, 2025, from 8:00 A.M to 5:00P.M.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the ERR to the City of Boynton Beach, Public Works team (if comment is submitted via email, address the comment to Moisey Abdurakhmanov at AbdurakhmanovM@Bbfl.us). All comments received by October 20th, 2025, will be considered by the City of Boynton Beach prior to authorizing submission of a request for release of funds.

ENVIRONMENTAL CERTIFICATION

The City of Boynton Beach certifies to Florida Commerce that Daniel Dugger in his capacity as City Manager consents to accept the jurisdiction of the Federal Courts if an action is brought to enforce responsibilities in relation to the environmental review process and that these responsibilities have been satisfied. Florida Commerce’s approval of the certification satisfies its responsibilities under NEPA and
