The Neighborhood Officer Program is a partnership of the Boynton Beach Police Department and the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) designed to cultivate high levels of mutual trust, understanding and respect between police officers and residents in the Heart of Boynton.
A sergeant, two police officers and a public service aide are assigned to the Neighborhood Officer Program and tasked with developing relationships that transform the confines of ordinary community policing activities, instead focusing on building sustainable partnerships.

Accomplishments of the Neighborhood Officer Program
- Attending all CRA-related events, weekly Heart of Boynton meetings and Healthier Boynton Caregiver meetings
- Mentoring students at Galaxy and Poinciana Elementary Schools
- Mentoring children in Cub Scout Pack 243
- Facilitating back-to-school backpack giveaways
- Distributing food in the community through Farm Share and Feeding South Florida
- Participating in Habitat for Humanity home dedications
- Recognized in the Palm Beach Post for crime reduction in Fiscal Year 2018
- Sweat/Read with a Cop program with children in the community
Neighborhood Officer Program team members say the most rewarding accomplishment is hearing and seeing the difference on the ground - from a child running up to them to toss a football or give them a hug to a community member calling them directly to report criminal activity or neighborhood concerns.
