Boynton Beach Fire Rescue offers several programs for youth of all ages through the C.A.R.E.S. Program.
The purpose of this program is to provide young adults with a comprehensive understanding of Fire Service. Members of the program are given the opportunity to learn skills and cultures of fire service with complete inclusion, diversity and mindset of the profession. Programs available for youth of all ages.

. Questions?The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department's Explorers Program is a free program designed for young adults between the ages of 14 – 17 who are interested in learning about a career in fire service.
Fire Explorers will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fire service, train with Fire Department Officers, participate in community service projects, City events, competitions, fundraisers and much more!
The Fire Explorer program is phase one of the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue C.A.R.E.S Program, those enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to advance to the Cadet Program (ages 18 -21) and be eligible for scholarship opportunities for both basic Fire Certifications and EMT/Paramedic School.
During this program Explorers will learn:
• Teamwork, Self-Confidence and Leadership Skills
• Forcible Entry, Search and Rescue and Ladder Training
• Ropes and Knots, Hose, Tools, Strategies and Tactics
• CPR, Stop the Bleed and EMS First Aid Skills & more!
Each year the Explorers will participate in Firematics competitions that take place in Daytona Beach during the Annual Fire Service Leadership Weekend and the Fire Rescue East conference sponsored by the Florida Fire Chiefs Association.
The Explorers program will begin October of 2022, meetings will take place two Wednesday each month from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Station #5 (2080 High Ridge Road) and periodically when additional City events and activities are scheduled.

Fire Department Cadet (Ages 18-21)

Questions?The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department's Cadet Program is designed for young adults between the ages of 18 -21 who have previously participated in the Explorers Program, Fire Science Program in High School or are currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution seeking a career in Fire Service.
Fire Cadets will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fire service, train with Fire Department Officers, participate in community service projects, City events, competitions, fundraisers and much more!
The Cadet Program is phase two of the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue C.A.R.E.S Program, those enrolled in the program will be eligible for scholarship opportunities for both a basic Fire Certifications and EMT/Paramedic School.

Cadets will participate in EMT/Paramedic Training that will prepare them for their State Certification exam.
The Cadet Program will begin October of 2022, meetings will take place two Wednesday each month from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Station #5 (2080 High Ridge Road) and periodically when additional City events and activities are scheduled.
Individuals enrolled in the Cadet Program will also train at Palm Beach State College Lake Worth Campus (4200 Congress Ave.).
As Cadets become more advanced in knowledge, skills and abilities they will be able to achieve rank and be eligible for scholarships toward the Fire Academy and EMT School.
