Representing all five branches of the United States military, from the Vietnam War to active duty, 18 veterans will successfully complete the PGA HOPE program today at the Links of Boynton Beach golf course. PGA HOPE is a free, six-week, adaptive golf national program created for veterans to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Clinics are taught by PGA professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency.
The Links will host a graduation ceremony at 4:30 p.m. today at the golf course, 8200 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, which will cap off a day of golf for the veterans.
The Links also hosts a weekly golf league for veterans called Hope Has a Home. Graduates of the PGA HOPE Program are invited to join the league at the discounted cost of $20 a week per person, which covers tournament play on The Links’ nine-hole Family Course. Graduates are also entitled to discounted greens fees year-round.
Any former veteran who has been honorably discharged from the U.S. military is invited to join the PGA HOPE program. Visit www.SFPGAGolf.com/pga-hope for more information about the program. For accommodations because of a disability, email ada@bbfl.us, or call 561-742-6241 or Florida Relay 711.
