[ARCHIVED] City to Host 2024 Hurricane Ready Community Preparedness Workshop

WPBF Hurricane Ready Social

If you want to know what weather experts predict and how best to prepare for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, join us Saturday for a free hurricane preparedness workshop hosted by the City of Boynton Beach and WPBF Channel 25.

WPBF Meteorologist Vanessa Vinent will discuss this season's forecast, the science behind the storms and how to prepare when a hurricane threatens. In addition, community members will hear from key city departments such as Utilities, Fire Rescue and Public Works about how the city prepares for hurricane season and their best advice to residents. City staff will be available for questions afterward.

“When it comes to hurricanes, the best advice is to stay informed, be prepared and listen to the experts,” Boynton Beach City Manager Dan Dugger said. “The City of Boynton Beach is ready, and we want to make sure our residents are, too.”

The event is from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Boynton Beach Police Department community room, 2100 High Ridge Road. It is free and open to the public.
