The community is invited to catch the 18th annual Firefighters’ Fishing Tournament and Firehouse Chili Cook-Off from 12 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park in Boynton Beach. Men, women and junior anglers will compete in a morning fishing tournament for more than $10,000 in cash and prizes. Upon their return to shore, this free, family-friendly event will kick-off and reel in attendees with a variety of activities including the weigh-in of angler catches, music, the firehouse chili cook-off and tasting, fresh made BBQ, axe throwing, local vendors and more. A number of teams from neighboring fire departments, all vying for the title of Best Chili, will compete in the Firehouse Chili Cook-Off against the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department.
