CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)

FISCAL YEAR 2024 (OCTOBER 1, 2024-SEPTEMBER 30, 2025)

NOTICE OF FUNDING OPPORTUNITY

The City hereby announces that it will be accepting Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for Public Services and Housing Rehabilitation Activities, for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 (October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025) from eligible local non-profit organizations beginning February 29, 2024.

The City of Boynton Beach (the City) is an entitlement community, eligible to receive assistance under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) block grant programs. Per federal regulations at 24 CFR, Part 91, the City is preparing a draft Annual Action Plan (AAP) for its FY 2024 CDBG Program funds, and will submit its AAP to HUD by August 16, 2024. This document is a requirement for direct assistance under HUD funding programs.

The City expects to receive approximately $550,000.00 in CDBG funding for FY 2024. Community Proposed Activities to be Funded:

  • Planning and Administration up to 20% (Approximately $110,000.00)
  • Public Services up to 15% (Approximately $82,500.00)
  • Other Eligible Needed Activities 65% (Approximately $357,500.00)

CDBG funding must primarily benefit low and moderate-income residents and areas. Eligible Public Services activities include, but not limited to Educational Programs, Services for Senior Citizens, Services for Homeless Persons, Drug Abuse Counseling and Domestic Violence Prevention Programs. Eligible Housing Rehabilitation activities include, but no limited to the Homestead Owner-Occupied Limited Rehabilitation Program for the Elderly and/or Disable.

All CDBG applications must be submitted with one (l) original hard copy and one (l) electronic copy with all attachments in accordance with the standard application package. The Community Improvement Division must receive all completed CDBG applications no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2024. Any CDBG applications received after this date and time will not be considered for funding.

Eligible Local Non-Profit organizations are invited to attend a Public Participation Meeting on February 28, 2024 at City Hall – Community Room # 115 (100 E. Ocean Avenue, Boynton Beach, Florida 33435) beginning at 6:00 p.m. Any questions about the Non-Profit Request for Funding application will be answer after the CDBG Public Participation Meeting presentation.
