The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department Dive Team will conduct a jet ski pick-off and paddle board ocean rescue training on Tuesday, July 18 beginning at 9:00 am at Oceanfront Park Beach (6415 N. Ocean Blvd.) in Ocean Ridge. The training will take place on the north side of the beach and is slated to last approximately three hours.

The team will simulate the rescue of both conscious and unconscious victims from the ocean and serve as an opportunity for the department to practice lifesaving scenarios that could be utilized during dangerous surf conditions where a rescue of a victim may be needed.

Only minutes from the Intracoastal Waterway and Boynton Beach Inlet, the BBFRD Dive Team is a progressive team consisting of twenty-three of the highest trained rescue divers in Palm Beach County. All Dive Team members must complete a number of courses and hold various certifications such as: Dive Rescue 1, Rope Rescue Operations, Professional Association of Dive Instructors (P.A.D.I) Open Water Certification and more.
