The Development Department encourages and coordinates sustainable growth of the city and promotes well-designed development that focus on livability, urban revitalization, growth management, and historic preservation. The Department is comprised of Planning & Zoning, Engineering, Economic Development, and Public Art. The Department also works closely with Development Services (Business Tax), the Building Department, and the Code Enforcement Department. Our goal is to deliver world class service while supporting the cycles of development and preservation that protects life safety and improves economic viability for all of our residents, businesses, and visitors.
