Park Improvement Projects

4/28/25 - Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park Boat Ramp - COMPLETED

The City of Boynton Beach is collaborating with the Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management Department on a dredging project near the boat ramp at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park that will necessitate the closure of the boat ramp for the duration of the project. The project is scheduled to begin within 10 days and is expected to take no more than two weeks to complete. We will share the exact start date as soon as it is determined.

Over time, sand has accumulated in the interior sand trap and navigation channels adjacent to the inlet, creating challenges for boaters and waterway access. This project will remove shoaled sand from the Intracoastal Waterway and the Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park boat ramp channel, restoring safe navigation conditions.

In addition to improving waterway access, the dredged sand will be repurposed to restore the critically eroded shoreline at Oceanfront Park, supporting local beach resilience and environmental protection.

We appreciate your patience while the boat ramp is closed during this essential maintenance project and encourage park visitors to check back for updates.
