Trees cool our streets, reduce energy bills, attract wildlife, beautify neighborhoods, clean the air, capture carbon emissions, and help reduce flooding! However, our community’s trees are being lost to development, hurricanes, and natural mortality. To reverse this downward trend, in September 2020 the Boynton Beach City Commission adopted the goal of planting 3,000 trees per year for a total of 45,000 trees by 2035. The City promotes the planting of native trees as much as possible.
You can help! Community participation is critical to reach our goal. Questions/comments: Email the Sustainability Coordinator or call 561-742-6494.
