The City Library is offering patrons the ability to reduce their library fines. Called “Food for Fines,” the drive ends Saturday, November 30.
For each item donated by a patron, the City Library will credit one dollar ($1.00) toward existing overdue fines from their Library account. Food for Fines applies only to overdue fines, and does not extend to other fees such as lost materials or replacement cards.
Needed items include baby food and formula, diapers, water, juice and juice boxes, cereal, soup, canned meats, canned pasta meals, and pasta. Library patrons without fines may also donate. All donations collected will benefit the Boynton Beach Community Caring Center’s Food Pantry, located at 145 NE 4th Ave. The Community Caring Center is a local non-profit organization dedicated to creating a healthier community through nutrition education, social services, and economic development programs. The donations will help feed the hungry during the December holidays.
Donations may be brought to the City Library, 115 N. Federal Hwy. before November 30 at 5 p.m. For questions, please call 561-742-6390.
