The City of Boynton Beach will host a Vince Wilfork Speaking Engagement on Wednesday, March 15 beginning at 6:30 pm at the Ezell Hester Jr. Community Center (1901 N. Seacrest Blvd.). This free community event is limited to the first 500 attendees.
Mr. Wilfork, a Boynton Beach native and graduate of Santaluces Community High School, is a former nose tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the New England Patriots, where he was recently voted into the team’s Hall of Fame. A two-time Super Bowl Champion (XXXIX and XLIX), Wilfork is considered to be one of the greatest defensive tackles in NFL history. He was named both to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro team in 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2012, and also won the 2001 College Football National Championship as a University of Miami Hurricane.
Mr. Wilfork will speak about his journey of making it to the NFL in the hopes of providing inspiration to members of his hometown community.
“It is an honor to welcome back Vince Wilfork to the City of Boynton Beach,” said Kacy Young, the City’s Recreation and Parks Department Director. “We are thrilled to provide this exciting opportunity to our local youth, many of whom play football themselves, to hear from such an elite athlete.”
Event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a free raffle to win one of five autographed footballs signed by Mr. Wilfork.
