City to Celebrate "Topping Off" Milestone

 We’re “beaming” with pride!

After eight months, the construction of our new City Hall & Library is reaching completion of the structural phase!  We are celebrating on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and you are invited!

Leave your mark on history!  Sign the 1,400 pound, 40 foot long steel beam that will be housed in the City Commission Chambers’ ceiling. Watch as it is hoisted to the second floor at 12:30 p.m. Although it will be covered by a ceiling, the orange beam in the photograph represents the placement of the signed beam.

This exciting phase of construction, often referred to as a “Topping Off,” will be held on the construction site at 100 East Ocean Avenue. Refreshments will be provided.

Closed toe shoes are required (no heels), as the building is still an active construction site. Parking is limited; please ride share if possible.  Those wishing to attend must RSVP via email at or by calling 561-742-6010 no later than Tuesday, October 1, by 12 Noon.

Town Square is a 16-acre site, situated in Downtown Boynton Beach. The project includes the renovation of the historic Boynton Beach High School into a cultural center, residential and retails space, a hotel, playgrounds, amphitheater, open spaces, parking garages, a fire station, utility chiller plant and a new City Hall/library. The project’s private and public partners are the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency and E2L.
