COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

Scope and Content Note:

Negatives and prints, probably collected in interest of Boynton Beach history. Includes some very poor copy prints of images from the early twentieth century, including from an 1927 unidentified photo album, and local buildings. Negatives are chiefly of the Boynton Beach Police Department, many noted as being taken by William H. Waters, police photographer.

Historical Note:

Born 1921 in West Palm Beach to Alfred Clayton Shepard and Mary Annie Streater Shepard. Grew up in Boynton Beach, graduating from Boynton Beach High School in 1939. After a career in New York City as a legal secretary, she returned to Boynton in 1976 and was active in many local organizations, including the Boynton Beach Historical Society and Boynton Woman's Club. She died in 2018.
