COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
Historical Note: Born 8 July 1917 in Michigan, Mary Linehan moved to Lantana at the age of 8 years old. She taught elementary school and worked as a school librarian in Palm Beach County. She married John T. Linehan (1910-1992) in 1950. Her passion was historical research, and she wrote several books and made many presentations on the history of Lantana and Palm Beach County. She died 19 July 1998.

Postcard collection of 361 items, chiefly color illustrated linen postcards. Features scenes from Palm Beach County, including Boynton Beach, Lantana, Delray Beach, Lake Worth, Jupiter, Everglades, Pompano, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach. Chiefly unsent, without postmarking or writing. Many have notations of where the card was purchased, and occasional historical or use details.
Slides scanned were chiefly of Boynton Beach, Lantana, Lake Park (originally named Kelsey City), Lake Worth, Manalapan, and Palm Beach. Slides were made from many sources, to illustrate presentations on local history given by Mary Linehan.
