Historical Note: Meredith Electric was the first electrical service in Boynton Beach. Its owner, John Brockner Meredith (1888-1947) purchased property on US1 in 1912 and later moved here in 1921 with his wife, Anna Brugger Meredith (1896-1985) and child, Margaret (1917-2002), opening Meredith Electric soon thereafter and installed the first electric lights in Boynton.
Scope and Content Note: Family history ephemera, including records such as social security card, genealogical group sheet, birth certificate; correspondence, including three letters to Anna Meredith’s mother; and a four page memoir of Anna Meredith’s life in early Boynton, including the 1928 hurricane.
