COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
Biographical Note: Evelyn Marie Merkel (born c. 1934) graduated Palm Beach Junior College nursing program in 1963. By 1969, she was head of pediatric nursing at Bethesda Hospital. Her husband, William Robert Merkel, a lawyer, died in 2018. Palm Beach Junior College changes its name to Palm Beach Community College in 1988, and then Palm Beach State College in 2009.
Scope and Content Note: Material accumulated during training as a nurse at Palm Beach Junior College, including school brochures (c. 1963), yearbooks (1963), photographs, and commencement program (1963). Also includes a yearbook from 1969.
