This Town Square gateway feature represents the City’s diversity and unity. It reflects nature by day and is colorfully lit at night. The zen-shaped seating walls provide sculpture viewing and a “Meet Me at the Kinetic” community-gathering place.

This interactive, kinetic sculpture acts as a giant magnifying glass. Sunbeams pour through the colored lens as the viewer swivels the rings into position to catch the light, casting a stained glass reflection on the ground.

Town Square Kinetic Art

karibu art caron  bowmanSix of the kinetic sculptures originate from the exhibition “Karibu: A Celebration of Black Artists in Palm Beach County.”   ATB Fine Art Group Inc. curated the exhibition for the Cultural Council of Palm Beach in Lake Worth in the winter of 2021.  Karibu ( pronounced kah-ree-boo) means “welcome, come in” in Swahili. The artist are Caron Bowman, Anthony Burks Sr., Tracy Guiteau, Cynthia Simmons, Raquel Williams and Gillian Kennedy Wright.

The artist invites everyone to step into the sculpture and feel the magical care by the ones who tirelessly attend to our well-being and health.

reflections kinetic sculpture by ralfonsoWith the new Town Square, the Boynton Beach Art in Public Places program commissioned the giant kinetic sculpture “Reflections” by Ralfonso, the circle of columns with sound and light entitled Synesthesia by Donald Gialanella. The City Hall Lobby includes works by William Combes, Carly Mejeur, Tiffany Beasi, Craig McInnis, Stacey Mandell, Stan Sternbach and Tom Brewitz.
