Please join the City of Boynton Beach for an Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 23 (10 am – 1 pm) at Centennial Park Under the Banyans (120 E. Ocean Ave., Downtown Boynton). The event will feature a tree giveaway, eco-market & expo, raffles, kids’ activities, food trucks, music, face painting and more!

Adults and Family Library 

  • April 7 from 1-2 pm in the Community Room (1st flor City Hall) - Let’s Talk About Gardens! Members of the Boynton Beach Garden Club will discuss the benefits of gardening and the basics for success. Included in the presentation are specific examples of Florida native plants that can easily be added to gardens and information about the many free resources available to every gardener, whether novice or expert. Time will be given for a Q&A at the end of the presentation!
  • April 18 from 11 am- 1:30 pm in the Commission Chamber - Movie Mondays: “Twister” Witness the dark side of nature. Join us for a matinee movie showing of "Twister." Complimentary popcorn and coffee provided. Please register so we can plan for seats and refreshments!
  • April 19 from 11 am- 12 pm in the Community Room (1st floor City Hall) - Increasing the Tree Canopy in South Florida

Community Greening is an urban forestry nonprofit that utilizes planting trees as a tool to better our communities and environment. Community Greening’s Co-Founder/Co-Director, Mark Cassini, will give a background on CG and the efforts they are making to increase the tree canopy throughout South Florida.

Youth Library 

  • April 14 from 4:30-5:30 pm - Sew & Sip: Felt Chicks - Use the blanket stitch to sew a sweet little felt chick, just in time for spring. 5-12 years
  • April 21 from 4:30-5:30 pm - Youth STEM Lab: Animal Babies - Learn about the littlest Florida wildlife-- from caterpillars to coyotes. Learn how baby animals survive and thrive in your own backyard. 5-12 years
  •  April 28 from 4:30-5:30 pm - Picture Book Club: Nature Poetry

Explore a bouquet of nature-inspired poetry picture books, then use watercolor paints to create your own illustrated poem. To take home a copy of When Green Becomes Tomatoes, please register in person or by calling (561)-742-6393 before April 21. 5-12 years

Teen Library 

  • April 22 and April 23, all day - Seed Library Showcase

Have a green thumb this Earth Day weekend? The Boynton Beach Seed Library has new seeds available! Visit the Youth Library to checkout flower and vegetable seedlings for free with your library card. Light refreshments will be served, while supplies last.

The City of Boynton Beach currently has six FREE public EV charging stations (11 parking spaces) and is working to install more in the future. The City’s public chargers are all “Level 2” (7.2kW), which add 20+ miles of Range Per Hour.

Boynton Beach Utilities provides free conservation kits to residents of the Utilities Service Area while supplies last. The kit includes a low-flow showerhead, LED light bulb, replacement toilet flapper, and leak detector dye tablets.

Pick up your conservation kit at the Utilities Administration Building, 124 E. Woolbright Rd., Monday – Friday 8am to 4:30pm.

Utilities Service Area residents are also eligible to apply for FREE rain barrels while supplies last. Please visit our water conservation page to learn more.

Are you planning any improvements to your home or small business? If you own property within the Boynton Beach city limits, the Energy Edge Rebate Program provides rebates for eligible energy-efficiency improvements including central HVAC, insulation, doors and windows, reflective roofs, water heaters, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and electric vehicle supply equipment. Rebates are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all allocated funds are awarded. Learn more here.
