Commissioner Romelus has been an Adjunct Instructor at Palm Beach State College since 2014 teaching Anatomy and Physiology. Prior to this position, she served the residents of Boynton Beach working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Maxim HealthCare Services providing direct patient care to clients living at home and was employed by Bethesda Memorial Hospital working on medical/telemetry and oncology floors treating adult and geriatric patients. Since 2013, Commissioner Romelus has been an ACN Residential and Small Business Representative providing essential services for residential customers and small to medium-sized businesses in telecommunications.
In addition to receiving her high school diploma at South Tech Academy in Boynton Beach, Commissioner Romelus also obtained her LPN Degree there. She graduated from the University of Miami (Go Canes!) in Coral Gables in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and two years later received her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University in Miami Shores.
Active in the community, Commissioner Romelus has done missionary work as a volunteer nurse during the Haiti Earthquake Relief and in the Dominican Republic. She has also volunteered as a nurse for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp. She has served on the City’s Building Board of Adjustment and Appeals and the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board and was a member of Boynton Beach Sister Cities. Commissioner Romelus is an honorary member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity.
Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Commissioner Romelus has lived in Boynton Beach for 6 years. She and her husband, Darren, have two sons, Christian Alexander and David Lee.
