Catch the Holiday Spirit – Extravaganza Dec 7

The City of Boynton Beach will kick off the holiday season with a free event, Holiday Extravaganza, on Sat., Dec. 7.  Forty-three years in the making, the traditional Annual Holiday Parade will begin at 5 p.m. on the corner of SE 12th St. and Federal Hwy. and proceed north to Ocean Ave. The Holiday Parade will feature 45 entries, including local high school marching bands and drum-lines, costumed characters, floats, drill teams, dance troupes and nonprofit organizations, ending  with a magical appearance by Santa.  Immediately following the parade, the Holiday Extravaganza will continue at 129 E. Ocean Ave. (on the grounds of the Children’s Schoolhouse Museum and Learning Center and Amphitheatre Stage) with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and concert by Orange Sunshine, at 7 p.m. Santa will visit and be eager to have his photo taken with good boys and girls on Santa’s Gumdrop Garden on the Amphitheatre Stage. Children’s activities, holiday gift merchants and food and beverage vendors will be available. 

Road closures for the Holiday Extravaganza are as follows: 

  • Ocean Ave. from Seacrest Blvd. to SE 1st St. -  5 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • Federal Hwy. from Boynton Beach Blvd. to Woolbright Rd. -  2:30 to 6:30 p.m.  
  • SE 3rd St. from SE 5th Ave. to SE 12th Ave.  -  2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  
  • All avenues between Ocean Ave. and SE 12th Ave. from SE 1st St. east to Federal Hwy.  -  2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  
  • SE 5th Ave. and SE 12th Ave. at SE 1st St.  -  2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
