Boynton Beach Firefighter's Benevolent Association Seeks Donations for 9-11 Memorial

The Boynton Beach Firefighter’s Benevolent Association is actively seeking donations to cover the cost for the construction and placement of a 9-11 Memorial in Veteran’s Park. A year and a half in the making, the South Florida 9-11 Foundation, comprised of retired New York City firefighters, was instrumental in working with the Fire Commission and 9-11 Foundation in New York City to secure a 40 pound, 12” x 14”, piece of steel from World Trade Center. The granite memorial will be adorned with a bronze plaque representing the significant events of September 11, 2001, that led to the deaths of 2982 innocent bystanders.

The total cost to produce and place the memorial is $6,250. Donations may be made on-line at or sent by mail to the Boynton Beach Firefighter’s Benevolent Association, Attn: Fire Chief Ray Carter, 2080 High Ridge Road, Boynton Beach, Florida, 33426. Checks should be made payable to the “Boynton Beach Firefighter’s Benevolent Association”, with “9-11 Memorial”, placed on the memo line of the check.

The Boynton Beach Firefighter’s Benevolent Association is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization.  All donations are tax deductible. Receipts will be issued for tax purposes.

The unveiling and dedication will be planned once $6,250 is secured in donations. For more information, contact Ray Carter, Fire Chief, by calling 561-742-6329 or emailing
