FORM OF GOVERNMENT The Commission-Manager form of government governs Boynton Beach. Voters elect a mayor and four commissioners who meet twice monthly to set forth City policy. The Commission appoints a City Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the City. The Mayor may live anywhere within the City limits, but is required to reside in the City for a least a year before seeking office. Commissioners must live within the district they represent and are elected by the voters within that district. They also are required to live within the district they plan to represent for at least a year before seeking office.
