Ron Weiland was elected to the City Commission in March 1999 and served one year as a Commissioner and one year as Vice Mayor. He was re-elected in 2001 and served a two year term. Upon Commissioner Bob Ensler's death in January 2007, Commissioner Weiland was appointed to fill his seat until the next election. In the November 6, 2007, election Commissioner Weiland was elected to continue to serve out the remainder of Commissioner Ensler's term. He will serve until November 2009.
The owner of A Dependable Transport, Commissioner Weiland currently is a member of the Golfview Harbour Homeowners Association and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark Catholic Church. He served on the St. Mark Church Renovation Board, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and participated in Habitat for Humanity. He has also been a member of the Palm Beach County Legislative Committee and a coach/manager for the Boynton Beach Little League. He is the City's representative to the Coalition of Boynton West Residents Association (COBWRA).
Commissioner Weiland is a native Floridian and a 32-year resident of Boynton Beach. He and his wife Ellen have four children: Emily, 13; Ronnie, 16; Tiffany, 18; and Chrissy, 19.
