City Advisory Boards are an invaluable source of information and feedback for Boynton Beach's elected and appointed officials. Members assist in making critical policy decisions that impact the community. The boards research, study and discuss issues with both short and long-term implications, forwarding their recommendations to the City Commission.

ARTS COMMISSION Meets: 4th TUESDAY- 6:30 P.M Vacancy: 1 regular position, 2 alternate positions. View Agenda - 2012 Develops a plan and programs to promote and support art in public places and recommends guidelines and funding for implementation. Members shall be residents or business owners, preferably artist, art volunteer/activist, planner, private developer, architect, neighborhood association member, interested citizen.
BUILDING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT & APPEALS Meets: ON CALL Vacancy: 1 regular position, 2 alternate positions. View Agenda - 2012 Hears appeals of decisions and interpretations of the Building Official and consider variances of the technical codes. Members shall have knowledge and experience in the technical codes to include an architect, engineer, general contractor, electrical contractor, HVAC contractor, plumbing contractor and any other contractor licensed category. One alternative member may be member at large from the public.
CEMETERY BOARD Meets: QUARTERLY ON 2ND THURSDAY - 6:00 P.M. Vacancy: 1 alternate position. View Agenda - 2012 Establishes rules and regulations for the management of the city's cemeteries and makes general recommendations to the Commission concerning their condition and development. At least half of the members must have cemetery or mortuary experience.
CODE COMPLIANCE BOARD Meets: 3RD WEDNESDAY - 6:30 P.M. Vacancy: 1 alternate position. View Agenda - 2012 Rules on code violations that are not corrected and attempts to find an equitable resolution to those problems. Membership is to include an architect, a business person, an engineer, a general contractor, subcontractor, realtor and/or those with building trade experience or other related technical experience.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS BOARD Meets: 2ND WEDNESDAY - 7:00 P.M. Vacancy: none currently. View Agenda - 2012 Provides a vehicle for citizen input on problems directly affecting the delivery of services connected with health, welfare, safety and housing, and provides information programs. Also reviews and recommends expenditure of funds allocated by the Commission for social services.
EDUCATION AND YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD Meets: 4TH THURSDAY - 7:00 P.M. Vacancy: 1 alternate position View Agenda - 2012 Acts as a fact-finding and advisory board on all issues pertaining to the youth of the Boynton Beach Community.
EMPLOYEES' PENSION BOARD OF TRUSTEES Meets: Last MONDAY of FEB, MAY, AUG & NOV - 1:30 p.m. Vacancy: none currently. View Agenda - 2012 Members are Mayor, City Manager, 2 Commission appointed and 3 employee elected.
FINANCIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Meets: EVERY OTHER MONDAY, COMMENCING AUGUST 9, 2010 - 6:30 P.M. Vacancy: 1 alternate position. Download application View Agenda - 2012 Has the general responsibility of reviewing the impact of existing or proposed legislative and administrative decisions on the City budget, revenue sources and operational expenditures and makes recommendations that may favorably impact the City budget and overall financial condition of the City.
GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE Meets: On call - 3:00 P.M. Vacancy: none currently. View Agenda - 2012 Gives input and advice on general planning, maintenance and operation of the Boynton Beach municipal golf course. The committee does not consider funding or financial management of the course. Those appointed by the city must be annual permit holders and/or reasonably regular greens fee players. Membership is from throughout the county.
HISTORIC RESOURCES PRESERVATION BOARD Meets: To be determined Vacancy: 1 regular position. View Agenda 2012 Recommends and nominates properties for historic designation, advises property owners on historic preservation matters and acts upon applications to renovate/rehabilitate structures listed on the historic register.
LIBRARY BOARD Meets: 4TH WEDNESDAY - 4:00 P.M. Vacancy: 1 regular position, 1 alternate position. View Agenda - 2012 Advises the City Commission, meets regularly with the Library Director and provides support for the city's library system. Must be Boynton Beach Library cardholders.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT BOARD Meet: 4TH TUESDAY - 7:00 P.M. Vacancy: 1 regular position, 2 alternate positions. View Agenda - 2012 Responsible for preparing, approving and updating the comprehensive land-use plan for the city, reviewing and making recommendations on all development master plans, site plans and planned unit developments, reviewing the zoning ordinance, making recommendations on rezonings and revisions to the zoning and subdivision ordinances. Also makes recommendations concerning the aesthetic attributes of these projects. Membership should include, but is not limited to design professionals licensed in the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, landscape design and planning.
RECREATION & PARKS BOARD Meets: 4TH MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH - 6:30 P.M. Vacancy: 1 regular position, 1 alternate position. Board representation will include all ages, and members should have experience and knowledge in recreation programs, community special events and/or park and facility design, development and maintenance.
