Below are guidelines and rules on the collection of residential household garbage, bulk trash, vegetation/yard waste, recycling, and tire amnesty. For pickup day information contact the Public Works Department at (561) 742-6200. All household garbage, bulk trash, vegetation/yard waste, and recycling must be placed at the curb after 6:00 PM the day before your scheduled pickup day or by 6:00 AM on the scheduled pickup day.
RESIDENTIAL HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE is picked up twice a week on either Monday & Thursday, Tuesday & Friday, or Wednesday & Saturday. A special note to those residents who have a City issued garbage cart; please ensure your cart is at least 3 feet away from all obstructions with the handle of the cart facing away from the street and with all garbage inside the cart with the lid securely closed. Residents without carts must ensure that their garbage is containerized and that it does not exceed 35 pounds.

BULK TRASH is picked up weekly curbside and includes such household items as appliances, furniture, etc. Construction and demolition debris such as fencing, kitchen cabinets, carpeting, and tile is limited to one cubic yard. An additional fee will be assessed for a special pick up of construction debris exceeding one cubic yard. Call the Public Works Department at (561) 742-6200 to arrange for a special pick up. Please note that bulk trash does not include hazardous waste such as motor oil, antifreeze, oil-based paints, fluorescent lights, etc. For hazardous waste, you must contact the Solid Waste Authority at (561) 687-1100.
YARD WASTE is picked up weekly curbside and must be containerized. Items such as tree limbs that cannot be containerized must be cut down into 4-foot lengths and cannot exceed 4 inches in diameter. Unlimited amounts of yard waste will be picked up on your normal trash/vegetation day. Vegetation and bulk trash must be kept separate. Yard waste piles mixed with bulk trash will be assessed an extra fee.
CURBSIDE RECYCLING is picked up weekly and must be separated into the yellow bin (newspaper & inserts, cardboard boxes, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, unwanted mail) and the blue bin (aluminum cans/foil/pie pans, steel cans, glass bottles, glass jars, drink boxes, milk/juice cartons, and plastic containers #1-7). Please note that larger cardboard boxes can be broken down into flattened 3' x 3' sections and placed in or next the yellow bin. Please do not place plastic grocery bags or stryrofoam in the bins.
TIRE AMNESTY occurs yearly in June. Residents may put up to eight (8) car and passenger truck vehicle tires (with or without rims) at the curb for pickup. The tires will be picked on the scheduled bulk trash day in your neighborhood and must be kept separate from all other debris.
