Who We Are:  The City of Boynton Beach Recreation & Parks Department maintains and operates more than 38 sites for recreational use.  At the head of the Department is the Director who reports to the Assistant City Manager.  The City Commission appoints a Recreation & Park Board of 7 members and 2 alternates.  The Board meets monthly providing valuable citizen input to the department's management.  Board members are appointed to three-year terms.

Nationally Accredited:  On October 10, 2006, the Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department became one of only sixty-six agencies in the country to have received national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies. This distinguished accomplishment was announced in Seattle, WA at the National Recreation and Park Association Annual Congress. 

The Department is one of only 12 agencies in the State of Florida to have gone through the process and received national accreditation. We are proud to have accomplished this rigorous goal, which clearly demonstrates our commitment "to deliver high quality recreation and parks services in the most efficient and effective manner possible".  Remember:  Your Recreation and Parks Department "Makes Life Fun"!  Come out and play today!
 
Our Service Area:  The Department serves 65,000 residents of Boynton Beach, as well as thousands of county residents, seasonal residents and visitors to the city each year.

Our Facilities: The Department operates 8 recreation centers, 29 parks, one swimming pool, the municipal beach, hundreds of youth, teen, adult and senior programs and a core volunteer program with 70 volunteers.  Professional trained and dedicated staff members manage the year-round recreation program.

Recreation and management enhances economic and community development and thus, is vital to our community.
