The City of Boynton Beach honorably dedicated this memorial to the memory of Assistant City Manager Wilfred Hawkins, Jr. (1960 – 2007), a city leader and visionary who was committed to education and the arts.

The Ring of Coral sculpture relief symbolizes unity, peace and the sea that supports all life. 

This artwork was created and donated by artist, Rick  Beau Lieu. Rick, a member of our community since 1986, is an active art advocate and well renowned artist. 

The artwork created in the late 1980's, is a mirror polished bronze wall sculpture highlighted in green patina and mounted on a black plexi-glass 23" square x 5.5"deep. A 6" x 10" dedication plaque accompanies the artwork that hangs in the Library lobby.

When you visit the library you will see the artwork in the Library lobby below the grand stairway.
