DOES PUBLIC ART INSPIRE YOU?
The Art in Public Places program wants to hear what is your favorite "Avenue of the Arts" sculpture. This inspiring outdoor sculpture exhibit extends from City Hall to the Intracoastal. The City will purchase one or more of the on-loan artworks for permanent placement.
The program is funded through the City's public art ordinance that collects one percent on development and redevelopment projects. The 70 percent of the one percent is to create and build Public Art in the development and redevelopment projects in the City. Thirty percent of the one percent funds the Public Art department and Public Art programs, such as "Avenue of the Arts."
YOUR VOTE COUNTS! We welcome your comments and the piece you like the best. Your input will be presented to the Arts Commission for final selection. All submissions must be in by May 23, 2008.
