Public Art Exhibits

“Fiber Art” exhibit on 2nd floor of City Library FREE to the public located at 208 South Seacrest Blvd. An artists reception is scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. Exhibit runs through May 2012.

The Art in Public Places Program and the City Library welcome professional Fiber artists for the Fiber Art exhibit. For this exhibit, artists responded to a call to artists and submitted their artwork. Eighteen artists and twenty six artworks were chosen by a special selection panel to have their artwork included in this exhibit. “Fiber Art” is the creation of fine art using textile arts technique with a variety of materials. Fiber artwork communicates some sort of a message, emotion or meaning and goes beyond just the literal meaning of the materials. Each artwork has an identifying plaque displaying the artist’s name, artwork title, description, size, medium and cost.   All of the artwork is for sale. 20% of the artwork sold benefits the following organizations: 10% Friends of the Library and 10% City of Boynton Beach Art in Public Places.
