Boynton Beach City Civic Center “Textures” On Loan Exhibit The City of Boynton Beach Art in Public Places Program with Boynton Beach Civic Center will host a yearly on loan exhibit featuring original artwork that spotlights “Textures.” Artwork that features a tactile quality and celebrates sensory sensations. Artwork that has textural finishes, surfaces, grains, qualities and consistencies. Is the artwork smooth, rough, pitted, soft, hard or squishy? Does it have grooves or gouges, is it smooth or polished or rustic and worn? Visual texture is the illusion of having physical texture. This exhibit will provide the public with an opportunity to gain knowledge and appreciation of this artwork form and how it relates to the upcoming “Avenue of Arts” outdoor exhibit with the same theme. The Boynton Beach Civic Center is located in the downtown City campus and hosts many activities for children, adults and seniors such as dance, karate, jazzercise, zumba, big band concerts and square dance nights. The center is open to the public and experiences many visitors monthly. |
