Offices of Bamboo Lane "Sproket Explosion" by Steve DiLeonardo

sproket close up"Gear Sproket Explosion" by Steve DiLeonardo of Boynton Beach was created and designed along with the owners and architects of the building; HNM Architecture, to satisfy the public art requirement and the bike rack code for THEoffice@bamboolane.net.

THEoffice@bamboolane.net is located at 3330 South Federal Highway just south of Woolbright Boulevard on the east side of the street at the southeast corner of Federal Highway and Bamboo Lane.  The architecture of the building reflects a modern art deco style.  The public art bike rack enhances the building's image with its bold bicycle gears imbedded in the concrete.  The public art bike rack is functional and sits just outside the main entrance to the building.

Artist Steve DiLeonardo created this custom artwork from metal with a white powder coated Sproket explosionfinish.  It is a modern interpretation of an exploded gears from a bicycle wheel that correlates to the buildings modern/deco vocabulary. It represents the component of the bicycle that actually drives the human force into motion which is the essence of the deco style of capturing movement.

Steve DiLeonardo is a descendent of a family of European and American artists. He began his career as a metal sculptor in the "Steel City" of Pittsburgh, PA. His artworks are in galleries, public buildings, institutions and collections throughout the world.  He primarily works in steel and aluminum finished with fine highly durable finishes.
