Forestry & Grounds Mission Statement
Enhancing our physical environment through the conservation of natural resources, sound management of City owned green spaces, and participation in the promotion of landscape beautification throughout the community.

Forestry & Grounds maintains over 600 non-park green areas such as City Hall, Library, Art Center, Animal Control, Fire Stations, Utilities, Right of Ways, Medians, Vacant city owned properties, lift stations and some small finger canals. Forestry & Grounds is comprised of 4 Maintenance Workers, 2 Irrigation Staff and 2 Arborists, 2 Crew Supervisors and the Forestry & Grounds Manager. Forestry & Grounds also oversee the landscape maintenance contractors who maintain the miles of Medians and Right of Way's.

Tree City USA

The City of Boynton Beach has been a Certified Tree City USA for 24 years. This means we have met the following four Standards:
   Standard #1 – A Legally Constituted Tree Body
   Standard #2 -  A Community Tree Ordinance
   Standard #3 – An Active, Comprehensive Community Forestry Program supported by a
                           Minimum of $2.00 per Capita.  This past year the city planted 712 trees
                           and palms equaling about $6 per capita.
   Standard #4 – An Arbor Day Proclamation & Public Commemorative Tree Planting

National Arbor Day

We Celebrate National Arbor Day in April each year with a tree planting ceremony.
