The City Manager is Boynton Beach's chief executive officer, responsible for the daily operations of the City. He is appointed by the City Commission to supervise and direct the implementation of City Commission policy as spelled out in the City's ordinances and resolutions, the budget, and through consensus reached at Commission meetings.  The city manager supervises the City's operations through departments.  The City's Police, Fire, Administrative Services, Public Works, Utilities, Human Resource, Development and Finance operations report directly to the City Manager.

The assistant city manager works closely with the city manager on day-to-day operations and plays a key role in the City's overall administration. He/she coordinates the work of the Administrative Services Team, which includes the City Clerk, Information Technology Services, Risk Management, Library/Children's Museum, Parks, Recreation, Public Art Administrator, Grant Coordinator, and the Links of Boynton Beach, the municipal golf course.
