
The City of Boynton Beach will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, which falls on Thursday, April 22, by hosting a series of presentations and displays. There will be the opportunity to win one of four solar chargers that will charge a PDA, cell phone, digital camera and a host of other battery operated devices as well as a painted rain barrel uniquely decorated by the kids at the City’s Hester and Art centers and donated by Rainlife Rain Barrels. Register all week at the Sustainability Exhibits in the Boynton Beach City Library, 208 S. Seacrest Blvd.

- Ideas to “green” your yard; pick up samples of native plant seedlings.

- Learn about environmental art and see what the Hester Center and Art Center Afterschool Program kids have created.
- Learn what The Links at Boynton Beach Golf Course (A National Audubon Society Certified Site) is doing to help the environment.
- Convenient public transit options to save money and reduce vehicle miles traveled/vehicle emissions.
- Boynton Beach’s Climate Action Plan - learn how Green House Gas Emissions (GHGE) will be reduced and what is being done at the Ezell Hester Community Center to reduce energy consumption and help kick off the City’s plans to become a sustainable community!
