Learn to Swim for Drowning Prevention

There are many reasons to enroll your child in swimming lessons at an early age.  But drowning prevention tops the list.  The top two reasons drowning deaths occur are a breakdown in adult supervision and adolescents or adults swimming alone.

  • Drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death among children ages 1-4yrs.
  • Swimming pools are the most common site for a drowning to occur among children 1-4yrs.
  • About three-quarters of pool submersion deaths occur at a home.
  • The majority of infant (less than 1) drowning deaths happen in bathtubs or large buckets
The Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department offers a wide array of affordable and convenient swimming lessons for tots through adults. We encourage you to call today to find out about class times.  We look forward to teaching another new generation to swim and be safe in the water.
