Youth Programs

The following programs are available at the Boynton Beach City Library. Programs are free and open to the public. The Library is located at 208 S. Seacrest Blvd. For more information, the public is invited to call 561.742.6390.

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone at all times while in the Library. Groups of five (5) or more must pre-register.  


March 2017

March is Youth Art Month. Art submissions will be accepted all month long for display in the Library. See Youth Services for details.

Read to a Dog:  Wednesday, March 1 @ 4:30—5:30 pm
Read to Certified Therapy dog Harley! She loves to have books read to her! Have fun and improve your reading skills. Grades K—5. Room:  YSA

Family Storytime:  Wednesday, March 1, 15, 22 & 29  @ 10—11 am
Listen to fun stories, sing silly songs and learn new fingerplays while making new friends at the Library. Ages Infants—5 years old. Room:  YSA

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Celebration:  Thursday, March 2 @ 4:30—5:30 pm
Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday!  Play wacky games and eat snacks to celebrate the writings and life of Dr. Seuss. Grades K—5.  Room:  YPR 

Kids Activity Lab:  Monday, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 @ 4:30—5:30 pm
Play board and videogames using a Wii, Wii U, PS3 or Xbox 360; or make wearable art with Rainbow Looms. Grades K—5. Room:  YPR

Baby Storytime:  Tuesday, March 7, 14 & 28 @ 10:30—11 am
Listen to stories and rhymes and sing songs that promote early literacy and development, while meeting other babies and parents. Ages Birth—24 months. Room:  YSA

Mini Masterpieces:  Tuesday, March 7 @ 4:30—5:30 pm
Create a beautiful work of art on a miniature canvas. Grades 2—7. Room:  YPR

Community Coloring:  Wednesday, March 15 @ 4—6 pm
Stop by and add color to the community coloring poster! All Ages. Room:  YSA

St. Patrick’s Day Craft:  Thursday, March 16 @ 4:30—5:30 pm
Create a special St. Patrick’s Day craft! Grades K—5. Room:  YPR

UNO Tournament:  Monday, March 20 @ 2:30—4 pm
Standard UNO rules apply. Please be on time! Grades 4—12. Room:  YPR

Sand Art Bottles:  Wednesday, March 22 @ 3—4 pm
Create beautiful layered sand art in bottles. Grades K—5. Room:  YPR

Movie Break:  The Secret Life of Pets:  Thursday, March 23 @ 3:30—5 pm
Max is a spoiled terrier who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke, a giant and unruly canine. During their walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that's bound for the pound. Luckily, a rebellious bunny named Snowball swoops in to save the doggy duo from captivity. In exchange, Snowball demands that Max and Duke join his gang of abandoned pets on a mission against the humans who've done them wrong. All Ages. Room: PR

Mad Hatter Tea Party:  Thursday, March 30 @ 6—7 pm
You are formally invited to our Mad Hatter Tea Party. Don’t be late! Join Alice, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat and other characters and drink tea and eat snacks, play games and create “mad hats!” All Ages. Room: PR

Little Artists:  Thursday, March 9 @ 10—11 am
Explore your creativity and showcase your artistic side. Ages 2—5 years old. Room: YPR

Lego® Club:  Thursday, March 9 @ 4—5 pm
Complete the monthly build challenge or free build to test your creativity. School-age children encouraged, but a section of blocks for younger siblings will be available. Grades K—6. Room:  YPR
