Boynton Beach Presents Special Service - “Wedding on the Waterway”

Vice Mayor William Orlove delivered the great news to Wedding on the Waterway winner Esther Baptiste.

In these tough financial times, the City is assisting a special couple by helping to offset costs for a beachside wedding ceremony for friends and family. This will be done in partnership with local Boynton Beach businesses including caterer, photographer and florist.

The Recreation and Parks Department, along with members of the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce, is sponsoring a free wedding ceremony and reception at one of the City’s premiere locations, Oceanfront Park, 6415 N. Ocean Boulevard.

The Wedding on the Waterway will be held in February 2012.

The winning couple was chosen from among more than a dozen application entries. To qualify, all applicants needed to meet the following criteria:

  • The bride or groom must reside in the city limits of Boynton Beach.
  • The couple must fill out an application with an essay for consideration.

Vice Mayor Orlove worked with the City's Recreation and Parks Department and the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce to plan the event. "In addition, the City will be able to showcase one of its premiere park facilities and some of its quality businesses. It should be a beautiful ceremony for a deserving couple", said Vice Mayor Orlove.

The application deadline was Friday, September 16, 2011.
